Oscar winning composer AR Rahman has made use of Artificial Intelligence to recreate the voices of two late singers-Bamba Bakya and Shahul Hameed. They have been used for the song ”Thimiri Yezhuda” in Rajinikanth’s upcoming film ‘Lal Salaam’.

The internet is divided on this move. Some fans praised him while others termed it as disrespectful and morally unethical.
Rahman replied saying that he had taken the necessary permission from the singers families and also sent them remuneration. He also stated that technology is not a threat and a nuisance if we use it right.
Singer Bamba Bakya died in 2022 at the age of 41 due to cardiac arrest while singer Shahul Hameed passed away in 1997 in a car accident at the age of 44.
‘Lal Salaam’ directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth will be released on February 9, 2024 and has actors Vishnu Vishal and Vikrant playing lead roles. Rajinikanth has an extended cameo in this film.
