Anthony Fauci to step down in December

Anthony Fauci, the Covid advisor to Joe Biden’s government is one of America’s top infectious diseases expert who became the face of the country’s fight against the pandemic will be stepping down in December. He will leave both positions of director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and that of chief medical advisor to Biden. However, he is not retiring.


The 81 year old said that he will pursue the next chapter of his career after stepping down. Biden extended his thanks to Fauci and stated that due to his contribution, many lives in the world were saved and that the country has become more resilient and healthy because of Fauci.
Fauci has served under 7 US Presidents since the 1980’s and has been the go to person for Biden to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic. Fauci lives with security protection as his family has received death threats.
