All- woman Navy crew returns

After successfully  circumnavigating the globe in eight months, the first ever Indian expedition steered by women sailors returned to Goa. They were welcomed by Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba. Prime Minister Modi will meet the six crew members in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The crew was led by Lieutenant Commander Vartika Joshi and comprised of commanders Pratibha Jamwal, Swati, Aishwarya, Vijaya Devi and Payal Gupta. After receiving the crew that she flagged off in September last year, Defence Minister said that she felt honoured by the achievement of the young women.
