After her unsuccessful attempt to climb the holy hillock in Sabarimala, activist Rehana Fatima has decided to seek legal recourse against the Chief Priest and the protesters. Even though the shrine was the most known secular place of worship, protesters called for a purification of the hill route in which the activist travelled.

She alleged that this was done to outrage religious feelings and cause a communal riot. She has decided never to go there again even if she is given a chance. The Kerala Muslim Jama-ath Council has initiated action against Rehana Fatima for trying to enter Sabarimala. She and her family will be expelled from the membership of the Mahallu as per the directions of the Council.
