Activist Kanakadurga ostracized by family

Activist kanakadurga whose entry into Sabarimala temple triggered a number of violent protests across the state has been ostracized by her family and refused entry into her home. She has now been sent to a One Stop Centre for violence affected women at Perinthalmanna run by the Social Justice Department.

She was earlier admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital Kozhikode with head injuries allegedly inflicted by her mother in law when she tried to enter her house at Perinthalmanna. All mediation attempts by the police failed and her husband refused to let her enter into his house. The family vacated the house and shifted to a rented house at Manjeri Kanakadurga is currently staying in the one stop centre and is seeking legal remedy under the domestic violence act
