An eight-month-old baby girl who was abducted from Besant Nagar has been rescued by the police. The baby has been identified as the daughter of a gypsy couple. The couple has been moving around from place to place selling hand made items. They used to sleep on the pavement at Besant Nagar. One night while they were sleeping, the girl’s mother woke up in the middle of the night and found the baby missing. The baby was not found even after an extensive search. They lodged a complaint with the Shastri Nagar police station.
The police checked the CCTV camera footage on the Besant Nagar stretch and tracked down the abductors. They found out from the footage that three women and a man took the child and fled in an autorickshaw. The police tracked down the vehicle and found out that the gang had sold the baby to a woman in M.G.R. Nagar. They rescued the baby and handed it over to the parents. They arrested the woman who had custody of the child and is on the lookout for the gang.
