A 15 year old minor girl was rescued after she made a distress call and was handed over to her parents by District Collector of Dharmapuri S Malarvizhi. The staff who rescued the girl received threats from her relatives.
As the girl was about to be taken to the Child Welfare Committee, the Collector called up and asked for the girl to be brought to the Collectorate. At the Collectorate, the girl was sent back to her parents by the Collector herself.
