Actress turned politician, Urmila Matondkar has announced her resignation from the Congress party. She unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha election in April from Mumbai. The reason she gave for quitting was “petty in- house politics “.
Urmila had written a letter to the former Mumbai Congress President Milind Deora regarding the lack of vision and leadership in the party. Her letter was leaked to the press and some person’s who she named in her letter for their shoddy performance were rewarded with new positions. Senior Party leaders said that they have not yet accepted the resignation of the actress.
