Tennis player Rohan Bopanna meets PM Modi

Tennis player Rohan Bopanna who recently won the men’s doubles Australian Open last week, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and presented him with the racket with which he won the Grand Slam.The racket had Bopanna’s autograph.

Bopanna scripted history at the Australian Open after he and his partner Matthew Ebden clinched the men’s doubles title.
Bopanna also became the oldest player at 43 to win a Grand Slam title. He beat the record of Jean-Julien Rojer who won the French Open men’s doubles trophy along with partner Marcelo Arevola at the age of 40.
The previous  Grand Slam won by India was at the 2017 French Open mixed doubles when Bopanna paired with Gabriela Dabrowski from Canada.
Bopanna also became the world number one men’s double tennis star.
