Sterling Holidays launched its Signature Bar – ‘Sterling LOCAL’ in Ooty. The bar reflects the uniqueness and diversity that is Local to the Nilgiris. Sterling Holiday Resorts, a leading leisure holiday brand in India, unveiled ‘Sterling LOCAL’- its first signature bar at Sterling Ooty Elk Hill. In line with the brand’s key differentiator ‘Sterling Discoveries and Experiences’ – enabling guests to experience the uniqueness of each destination, Sterling LOCAL is conceptualised with an idea of making ‘desi’ beverages and ingredients an integral part of experiences at the bar.
Using fresh and unique local ingredients and local beverages, Sterling Local gives the guest the choice of discovering new flavours in cocktails and snacks, unwinding in thematic setups that highlight the destination’s popular or iconic elements, including people and events. This launch marks a significant addition to Sterling’s food and beverage offerings, making the selections in the menu unique in itself. As an overarching message Sterling LOCAL encourages guests to Celebrate everything that is Desi.
Ooty where Gin & Tonic was first invented, will now also include cocktails like ‘Kinoa’ Gin & Tonic, ‘Malaithen’ Peach Whiskey Sour, ‘Nilagiri Theener’ & Gin, Vodka Tomato ‘Mara-thillo’, Desi Strawberry Margarita giving a Local twist to international favourites and also feature desi beverages like Hot Rasam Martini and Black Tea Hot Toddy; while the snacks will introduce Badagas ‘Kozhi’ Fry – an authentic recipe of the Badaga tribe, Southern Garlic Fish with the catch of the day from the freshwaters of Nilgiri lakes, ‘Mochai’ Tava Patties, Ooty organic ‘Kaikari Vaatal’ – assortment of organically grown vegetables with spices and herbs of Ooty and much more.
