A speeding water tanker hit a two wheeler and ran over a woman and her son on Anna Salai. The lorry was proceeding from Poonamallee. It entered Binny Road to reach Woods Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a two wheeler coming in on the opposite side.
The lorry ran over them and crushed them to death on the spot.The deceased Mahesh and his mother were heading back to their house in Chetpet after visiting relatives in Royapettah regarding the wedding of Mahesh’s sister. The lorry driver has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
