Always a trendsetter, Queenie Dhody has consistently been successful at whatever she takes up, from being a prominent style icon to one of the most aesthetically inclined jewelry designers.
Queenie Dhody, the former Miss India, the style icon of Mumbai, is more than just a beauty and socialite. As a model-turned-jewelry designer, her jewelry has adorned some of the world’s most famous people, including Hilary Clinton and the Queen of Morocco. She has also designed for Miss Universe Lara Dutta and some Bollywood stars like Malaika Khan, Kangna Ranaut and Amrita Arora. She has also designed for Hollywood celebrity Jade Jagger.

Super Boss at Super Chef
The Forum Vijaya Mall recently hosted a unique culinary cookout with the event, “Super Boss to Super Chef”. Heads of prominent companies across the city swapped their crisp business suits for comfortable aprons and cooked up a storm! The contestants included Kaushik Sarawgi – Vice President Finance of RR Donnelley, Sadhana Srinivasan – Founder of Neeras Design Studio and Dr. Wasim Mohideen – Director of Techmed Healthcare. Each of the super bosses were allowed to bring a partner and had to cook up a dish from a table laden with surprise ingredients, within a time limit of one hour.
The super bosses shook off their usually composed demeanor and hurried to the table that was heaped with a bounty of ingredients Kaushik Sarawgi and his wife Preethi prepared an innovative dish, ‘Cutlet O La Slice’ that comprised crispy cutlets topped with flavoured paneer.
The participants were judged based on creativity, presentation, name of the dish, usage of ingredients, cleanliness and most encouraged team. After an extensive tasting session by the judges Venketesh Bhatt – CEO of Accord Group of Hotels along with Chef Balaji – Co-owner of Salt – Restaurant & Grill, the grand trophy went to Kaushik Sarawgi. “The credit for this win goes entirely to my wife. She took the lead right from the start and made an extremely delicious dish,” he stated. All the contestants got gifts worth INR 20,000 including beauty products, gift hampers and a luxury watch.

The launch showcased the excellent talents of Arjun Saluja, Nida Mahamood, Chandrashekar, Niki Mahajan, Malleka , Takla Makkan and Vivek Karunakaran in terms of a fashion flash mob. The event was attended by esteemed socialites of the city which included Vimmi Deepak,Rachna, Akriti Sachdev and Shilpa Vummidi.

The India Resortwear Fashion Week which happened at Mumbai had quite a lineup of glamourous shows this year with Nishka Lulla to Sounia Gohil, Babita Malkani, Rocky S, Turquoise and Gold as well as Falguni and Shane Peacock.
Amrita Arora, Sushmita Sen, Shibani Dandekar, Evelyn Sharma, Konkona Bakshi, Sofia Hayat, Mugdha Ghodse and Karishma Tanna were some of the well known faces spotted out there. Here’s a round up from the event.
A classy art event
Art enthusiasts in Chennai were certainly in for a visual treat as the popular Sakshi Gallery recently held a preview exhibition of outstanding works of art by well-known artists. Attended by socialites, industrialists and art aficionados alike, guests at this event were seen discussing the various artworks and installations on display. Artist Ravinder Reddy’s Faces undoubtedly garnered lots of attention. Ace director Maniratnam was seen at the event; he even indulged the shutterbugs, posing for pictures.
