HIP-NOSIS, the 6th edition of India’s biggest Belly Dance Festival is happening in Bangalore from Sept 24-27, 2015, for professional and amateur Belly Dancers, including Belly Dance enthusiasts in the country. With the main objective being to spread awareness about Belly Dance across the country, it brings down Professional Belly Dancers from other countries as well for performances and workshops, apart from having the best Belly Dancers from India.

Hip-Nosis 2015 comprises of two massive gala shows, performances by – the Master Teachers, Isadora’s Muse, Students of PDA & renowned professional belly dance troupes from across India.

This event is hosted by Payal Gupta, Founder of Payal’s Dance Academy. Payal has been a professional belly dancer for close to 8 years and has performed across the world in various belly dance festivals and competitions, having won several awards.

‘Srimanthudu’ – the 2nd highest grosser after ‘Baahubali’ this year

Mahesh Babu starrer ‘Srimanthudu’, the much awaited Telugu drama opened to an overwhelming response on August 7 across packed theatres with very positive reviews and earned Rs. 101.25 crore worldwide at the box office in its first week. With this outstanding opening, ‘Srimanthudu’ became the second highest grossing Telugu release this year after Baahubali.

Written and directed by Koratala Siva, the Telugu drama stars Mahesh Babu and Shruti Haasan in lead roles. Eros released Srimanthudu across 2000 plus screens worldwide in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, north India and overseas. The film released in Tamil dubbed versions in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. ‘Srimanthudu’ has been primarily shot in Hyderabad while a few portions of the movie were filmed across Tamil Nadu and Thailand.

Recently, three short teaser ads featuring Prakash Raj stirred controversy in the social networking medium. The new ad campaign endorsed by him started causing an outcry for its provocative message. The controversial advertisements seemed to target parents and their daughters with the line “kalyana vayassu ponnu irunthaale tension thaane”. Three short teaser ads had appeared, where parents speak to the actor, describing their daughter as a ‘tension’ to an empathetic Prakash Raj who then signs off with the campaign line. Not surprisingly, the campaign had elicited a storm of comments, especially on social media. Facebook posts have appeared by the hundreds on users facebook timelines, some agreeing and some criticizing the campaign. The youtube channel for the respective ads also do not appear under an existing brand’s channel but under an independent channel called ‘Tension daughter’, which only adds to the mystery. Now it has been revealed that the brand is KFJ.

Now Prakash Raj has clarified his stand on the same. He has posted, “‪‎kfj‬gold ad.With due respect to the concerns of all who have taken offence. I would like to state that it was not the intention.
It is aimed at the mindset of people who think girl child is “tension“. The ad clearly states it is the rate of gold u gift ..not the girl. I respect everyone who have questioned me.. And I promise it was not intended. Hope you see it in the context of its expression .. Thank you….”
