NTR is currently shooting in UK for his forthcoming film directed by Sukumar. Recently Kalyan Ram and Mahesh Babu’s cousin Sai Raghava Ratna Babu dropped in on the sets of NTR’s film and spent some quality time. Well, that surely makes for a kodak moment!
While Mahesh Babu’s recent runaway hit ‘Srimanthudu’ was appreciated by many, the superstar reveals that it was Ram Charan who was the first to congratulate him. In fact, he’s the only from the industry to call me it seems. “From the industry, only Charan congratulated me. Was surprised, but it’s not a big deal”, Mahesh is quoted as saying.
After bagging a plum prject opposite Pawan Kalyan in ‘Sardaar Gabbar Singh’, buzz is that Rai Laxmi has bagged a good project in Bollywood. The film is said to be the sequel of the romantic thriller ‘Julie’. Titled Julie 2, this film will go on floors soon. An excited Laxmi Rai posted this news on her twitter page.
Swathi Reddy is currently promoting her female-oriented film Tripura, which has already garnered curiosity for it’s posters. Buzz is that the horror comedy has come out extremely well and will surely impress the audience big time. The film, directed by Raj Kiran, will simultaneously release in Tamil as ‘Tripura Sundari’.
After making a strong comeback with Balakrishna’s Legend and Mahesh’s ‘Srimanthudu’, actor Jagapathi Babu is on a roll. Buzz is that the versatile will be seen in a crucial cameo in Malayalam superstar Mohan Lal’s upcoming film ‘Puli Murugan’. Jagapathi Babu has already started shooting for his role in the film which also features Kamilini Mukherjee and Namitha.
After the makers of ‘Srimanthudu’ confirmed that their next film will be with NTR, it’s been widely speculated that Koratala Siva will helm the project. The director recently met the actor and even got the nod for the script, and the film might go on floors after NTR wraps up Sukumar’s film.
The first Look and title of Nagarjuna Akkineni and Karthi film will be released on September 18. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, the film is reportedly the remake of French film ‘Intouchables’, and stars Tamannaah amd Gabriella. “Celebration of Life”, is the central theme of this film, which is in the final leg of shooting.
It was buzzed that Ram Charan might do a bilingual film in the direction of Gautham Menon. The latest we hear is that the actor and director are in talks for a film, and if all goes well, we could soon heave an official announcement. Meanwhile, Charan is fast wrapping up his action drama ‘Bruce Lee’.
Malayalam actor-director Sidharth Bharathan’s condition is said to be stable. He is still unconscious. The 32-year-old was critically injured in an accident on Saturday around 2 am when his vehicle hit a roadside wall in Kochi. He suffered a serious head injury which caused internal bleeding and had to undergo surgeries on
his knee and thigh soon after he gains consciousness.
After hitting two million followers on Twitter, actor Dhanush thanked his fans and well-wishers for “the love and support”, saying he will work hard to meet their expectations. Actress Tisca Chopra, most popular for her work in films such as “Taare Zameen Par” and “Rahasya”, is making her Telugu debut with Ram Charan-starrer upcoming actioner “Bruce Lee”. “Tisca plays a rich, powerful and independent woman in the film. Apparently, it was director Srinu Vaitla, who has followed Tisca’s work closely, decided to cast her as he felt she was apt for the role.
Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman said on Monday that his “decision” to compose the music for the movie “Muhammad: The Messenger of God”, “was in good faith” with no intentions to offend any religious group. Reacting to fatwa being issued against him over the film, the musician refrained from sharing his “spiritual experiences” of working on the film as it’s something “personal” to him and wrote an open letter revealing his intentions through a letter posted on his official Facebook account.

Interesting culinary creations presented with a Madras twist
The Grand Finale round of the Baking MADras contest, organised by the Murugappa Group, in association with Old Madras Baking Company (OMBC) and The Raintree, Anna Salai, as the hospitality partner, was held today.
This Baking Contest with a Madras Twist was a special contest for foodies from the city, and was announced as part of the Madras Week celebrations, in which the first two rounds were held last month.
Initially, all the participants had to send in written recipes, from which shortlisted contestants had to present their creation to a set of judges in a Bake-and-Bring round. The finalists were selected from that, and in today’s final live cook-off round, they were required to present a dish using the ingredients of a ‘Madras Mystery Box’ – Ragi flour, Jaggery, Idli podi and Sambar onions.
The dishes were judged by city food entrepreneur Sandesh Reddy, foodie and socialite Vidya Gajapathi Raju, Executive Chef of The Raintree Hotel St. Mary’s Road Chef Hushmoin Patell, and G. Ramprasad, President, New Initiatives, Murugappa Group.
Farida Bharmal was awarded the first place for her ‘Chicken Cream Pie’, while the second place was won by Sirisha Jonnada for her ‘Ragi Chocolate Lava with Jaggery Praline’. The third place was shared by Preethi Madanan for her ‘Madras Basket’ and Janani for her ‘Aatukaran Pie’.
The participants were presented with gift vouchers of over Rs. 65,000 from Murugappa Group and OMBC, and goodie hampers and certificates.
The event saw the presence of a number of the city’s food bloggers and media houses.
