Spanish couple in Puri Jagannadh’s ‘Loafer’

Director Puri Jagannadh has been filming ‘Loafer’ in full swing. And we had mentioned in our recent new article today that actor Varun Tej has also joined the crew in Goa after finishing with the dubbing of ‘Kanche’ last night. In ‘Loafer’ audiences will get to watch a Spanish couple named Marta and Boris whom director Puri Jagannadh had met in Goa. What’s special about this couple is that they have travelled nearly 20 countries by road by taking lifts from vehicles. They have crossed borders without buying a ticket. It took them two years to reach Goa. Not just that, Puri Jagannadh mentions that the couple have adopted a cat and have named it ‘Burma’ whom they have decided to take back to their country and make a passport for it too. Isn’t it cute?

Actor Kreshna Kulasekaran, brother of director Vishnuvardhan has been going through a rough patch in his married life. A dowry harassment complaint has been filed against him by his wife, Hemalatha, aka, Kaivalya Ranganathan. The actor had already filed for divorce earlier. In this regard, Kreshna has made a clarification on his part through the media which states, “….Due to some unforeseen circumstances I have been alleged by a complaint. Currently the complaint is in high court mediation and the divorce case is pending in the family court and as a law abiding citizen I believe in our justice system and have all issues to be discussed in the family court. Since its very personal to me, I wish my friends in the media and others would help me keep this private as it affects my loved ones….”

Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Tabu starrer ‘Drishyam’ directed by Nishikanth Kamat, which is the remake of the Malayalam original, ‘Drishyam’ directed by Jeethu Joseph starring Mohanlal, Meena, has completed 50 days at the Box Office. According to Ajay Devgn, it, “feels similar to a film completing a golden jubilee.” ‘Drishyam’ was also remade in Tamil as ‘Papanasam’ with Kamal Haasan, Gauthami in lead roles. ‘Drishyam’ is a highly critically acclaimed film. Jeethu Joseph has directed the Tamil version as well.

Ever since the first-look teaser and trailer of Varun Tej starrer ‘Kanche’ was out, the film has garnered a lot of applause from the film fraternity and fans and audiences alike and immense critical acclaim. Expectations from the film are high. Varun Tej has wrapped up the dubbing part of the film last night and has reached Goa to join the sets of his next film ‘Loafer’.  ‘Kanche’ has Pragya Jaiswal co-starring  with Varun Tej and the film has been directed by Krish. The film is based on World War 2, a love drama and is slated for release on October 2.

Kreshna booked on dowry charge

Tamil actor Kreshna was booked under the dowry harassment charge following a complaint by his wife Hemalatha alias Kaivalya. Director Vishnuvardhan’s brother actor Kreshna, had filed a divorce petition in a city family court alleging physical and verbal abuse from his wife, a few months ago. Now it is reported that Kaivalya filed a police complaint in June alleging, Kreshna and his parents to have demanded 300 sovereigns of gold jewellery and `32 lakh cash as dowry.

Ramya Krishnan to play Sreesanth’s mother

Popular actress Ramya Krishnan will be playing the character of Sreesanth’s mother in a multilingual film to be directed by Sana Yadireddy. Says Prakash, scriptwriter of the film, “Remya Krishnan will be playing his mother. But she won’t be a traditional teary-eyed mother but a friendly, modern one who also happens to be his first cricket coach.” The film, which has cricket as its central thread, will be made in all four South Indian languages.

Post the success of Mahesh Babu-starrer ‘Srimanthudu’, Shruti Haasan has been the toast of the South. Buzz is that the slender beauty has also been approached to play the female lead in Sivakarthikeyan’s next film to be directed by Bhagyaraj Kannan. Earlier, it was reported that Shamlee and Samantha had been approached to play the female lead. A source says, “Shruti has been approached, but she is yet to OK the project.”

Suriya-Samantha head to Poland

The director has zeroed in a few exotic locations in Poland for the shoot for the film, which also has Nithya Menen playing an important role. While the Telugu vesion of Nagarjuna-Karthi film has been titled ‘Oopiri, buzz is that the makers have titled the Tamil version of the film ‘Thozha’. The film is about the friendship and the beautiful bond between Karthi and Nagurjuna. While Nag plays the role of paraplegic millionaire who was reduced to a wheel chair post a traumatic car accident, Karthi plays his associate and Tamannah is Nag’s secretary.

Ajay Devgn to star in ‘Lion’ remake?

If all goes well, then Ajay Devgn might star in the Hindi remake of Nandamuri Balakrishna-starrer Telugu film ‘Lion’, directed by Satyadev. The filmmaker said that Ajay Devgn expressed interest to star in the Hindi version and the talks are going to remake the action drama in Bollywood. Satyadev also said that he has readied another script ‘Saarvabhouma’, and is ready to narrate it to Balakrishna whenever the actor gives him the opportunity.

Composer-turned-actor G.V. Prakash Kumar, who is basking in the success of his latest acting venture “Trisha Illana Nayanthara”, says he’d would love to work on the third installment in the “Gangs of Wasseypur” franchise. “I just read about it last week. Nobody from the team has approached me yet, but I’d love to work on the film, if given an opportunity,” he told. Prakash composed the background score of the first two parts. “I hope I get an opportunity to work again,” said Prakash.

Selva says it was a dream come true moment to direct actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan in upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual “Thoongaavanam”. “I think the best day of my life so far has been when Kamal sir asked me to direct this film. There’s nothing before and after that moment and I don’t think anything can replace it, and it’s like my long time dream had come true,” Rajesh told, who will soon collaborate with the legendary actor again.
