Karnataka announced lockdown from May 10th to May 24th 2021
Soon after Kerala announced a lockdown, Karnataka also followed suit with over 48,000 cases being reported on a single day. Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa announced a 2 week lockdown from May 10th 2021. The state witnessed the highest single day deaths with close to 592 people dying on a single day. Police have been asked to enforce stringent measures to control the spread of infections. It has been reported that the Government would also be fixing a cap for scans and X-rays with rates slowly skyrocketing as cases surge.
