Jayalalithaa’s niece takes possession of Veda Nilayam

J.Deepa, niece of late chief minister of Tamil Nadu, J.Jayalalithaa was officially handed over the keys of Veda Nilayam by Chennai Collector J.Vijaya Rani.
The Madras High Court had ordered that the property be handed over to the legal heirs of the late chief minister.


Deepa was accompanied by her husband Madhavan and well wishers as she stepped into her aunt’s house for the first time after her demise. She garlanded the portrait of her aunt and offered floral tributes.
She told reporters that she felt very happy and emotional for this big victory and that it was her birthplace. She recollected the happy days she spent with her aunt in the Poes Garden residence.
Deepa said that she would occupy the house and commence maintenance work and that the soul of her aunt will now rest in peace.
