49 year old Elon Musk has overtaken Bill Gates and has now become the world’s second richest person with a net worth of $128 billion. His wealth surged by $7.2 billion after Tesla’s market value topped $500 billion. In the lead is Amazon founder Jeff Bezos with a net worth of $180 billion. It is said that Bill Gates net worth of $127.7 billion would have been much higher if he had not made donations to charity.
He donated around $27 billion to his namesake foundation since 2006. Tesla shares have gained further after the election of Joe Biden. Tesla caters to European tastes and roads and manufactures smaller cars for Europe as they have smaller streets. The cars made for the US on the other hand are bigger.
