D Gukesh, who won the World Chess Championship in Singapore last November after beating Ding Liren, went to the Tirumala Temple in Andhra Pradesh along with his parents. He shaved his head and sought the blessings of the sacred temple which is known for its spiritual significance.
Gukesh created history by becoming the youngest person to win the World Chess Championship. He also jumped to number 3 in the world as per the FIDE rankings. He dedicated his title to his parents Rajinikanth and Padmakumari who gave their all to make his dream come true.He felt happy that the financial condition of his family had improved and that now his family can live comfortably.
He now wants to work hard and improve in all formats of the game and with God’s grace, hopes that good things will happen. He is focussing on important tournaments taking place this year and hopes to do well.
