Chanda Kochhar who is currently facing an enquiry regarding charges of nepotism and conflict of interest has quit from her post of Chairperson and Managing Director and CEO of ICICI Bank six months before the end of her tenure.
She has also resigned from all the subsidiaries of the bank including ICICI Securities where she had sought reappointment as the chairperson. Sandeep Bakhshi has been elevated as the new Managing Director and CEO for a period of 5 years till October 3rd 2023. The enquiry against Ms. Kochhar by retired Supreme Court judge B.N.Srikrishna will continue. It may be recalled that she went on leave in May after the enquiry was announced.
