The stepfather of actress Ranya Rao K Ramachandra Rao, who is the Director General of Police of the Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation has been sent on compulsory leave just days after Ranya Rao was arrested in a gold smuggling case.
He was issued an order without specifying any reason. Her father said that he was shocked and devastated to hear about her arrest and he was not aware of these things.
He further disclosed that Ranya was not living with them but was living with her husband and that there must be some problem between them.
Inquiries revealed that Ranya Rao used her connections to skip security checks and announced that she was the daughter of a Karnataka DGP.
The Karnataka government is conducting an inquiry into the alleged misuse of VIP airport protocol privileges by the actress.
