He will be replacing veteran senior leader Ramesh Chennithala
The Congress has finally announced the leader of Opposition in Kerala as V D Satheesan. It came as a surprise to many that veteran leader Ramesh Chennithala was replaced by V D Satheesan though rumours have been doing the rounds that a change of leadership was on the cards. V D Satheesan hailing from Ernakulam was elected for the 5th consecutive term in the Kerala polls and is a popular figure. He has also served as the vice-president of the state unit and AICC secretary in the past. The party has welcomed the move in the hope that the change would bring in a positive impact.
