The Tamil Nadu DGP Sylendra Babu saved the life of a boy who was rescued from drowning on the Marina coast by giving him cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The DGP was walking near the beach when his team noticed a 10 year old boy drowning in the sea.

They jumped into the sea and managed to pull the boy out. He was unconscious but the Tamil Nadu DGP made the boy lie down and administered CPR on him. He also took care to see that nobody gave any water to the boy as it would have led to suffocation.
The boy was later transported to the hospital by a beach ATV operated by the Tamil Nadu Police.
