15 Nations Participated in This Mega Culinary Festival at Bolgatty, Kochi! 

The ‘Spice Route Culinary Festival’ is a first of it’s kind to be ever held in Kochi. The international event, conducted jointly by Kerala Toursm, Government of Kerala and UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) was held at Bolgatty Palace and Resorts, KTDC, Cochin, from 23rd to 26th September 2016. The Kerala Tourism department declared that the objective of the event was “To showcase Kerala Cuisine by highlighting the usage of traditional spices, commemorating the Spice Route, and to identify culinary talent in Kerala, to provide them with an opportunity to interact with the foreign participants of the Spice Route Culinary Festival.” The event was open to professional chefs as well as amateurs.

15 countries participated in this mega culinary event. Top chefs from Iran, Lebanon, Spain, Portugal, Egypt, Thailand, Germany, Oman, Turkey, Qatar, France, Malaysia, Italy, Netherlands and Japan rolled out exotic dishes within the three-and-half hour time limit. The winners of the event would be announced at the grand finale!
