Priyanka Gandhi goes into self-isolation after Robert tests positive for Covid 19

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has gone into self-isolation after her husband Robert Vadra tested positive for coronavirus. Although she tested negative, she has been advised by doctors to self-isolate for a few days.


Due to this, she had to cancel all her election campaign programmes. Priyanka was to campaign in Assam, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. She apologised in a video message posted on Twitter for not being able to attend the campaign and wished the candidates the very best. She hopes that all the candidates fare well and the Congress emerges victorious.
The Assembly elections will be held in Kerala and Tamil Nadu in a single phase on April 6th and will be the third and last phase of polling in Assam.
India has seen a sudden spurt in the number of coronavirus cases over the last few weeks especially in the states of Maharashtra, Punjab and Gujarat. As on date, the total tally of cases is 1,23,03,131 and the death toll has risen to 1,63,396.
