The upcoming Tamil film will be Urvashi’s 700th film!
After ‘Mithunam’ that was a family drama with Mohanlal and Urvashi in the lead, renowned director Priyadarshan will be teaming up with South Indian star Urvashi for his next Tamil film titled Appatha. Mithunam that released in 1993 was a super hit and has been a family favourite for most Malayalis. Inspite of occasional breaks in her career, Urvashi has done many memorable roles in Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil Cinema like Achuvinte Amma, Varane Aavashyam Undu, Mookuthi Amman, Soorarai Potru to name a few. Appatha will be Urvashi’s 700th film.
Priyadarshan himself took to his social media page to make the announcement. He wrote, “The reunion that happened long after ‘Midhunam’!Getting back together in ‘Appatha’, the upcoming Tamil movie which marks the 700th one for Urvasi!” Priyadarshan’s next release that has a stellar star cast that includes Mohanlal, Pranav Mohanlal, Suhasini, Manju Warrier, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Keerthy Suresh, titled Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham is waiting for release across theatres on December 2nd, 2021.
