Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra was taken to a hospital in Panipat after leaving a welcome ceremony at his village due to fever. Neeraj created history in Tokyo by winning an Olympic gold.
He had an extremely busy schedule since his return to the country. The day he returned, he and the other Olympic medal winners were felicitated by the sports ministry. The next day, he was felicitated by the Athletics Federation of India. Neeraj then developed fever and had to miss the felicitation function organised by the Punjab and Haryana government. He was tested for Covid-19 but the result was negative. He later attended the high tea hosted by President Ram Nath Kovind for the Indian Olympic contingent.
After this, he attended the Independence Day function at the Red Fort and was the cynosure of all eyes at the felicitation organised by the Indian Olympic Association.
