Modi praises Kerala for reducing vaccine wastage !

Kerala administered 74,26,164 doses to patients from 73,38,806 doses received

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded Kerala for its efforts to ensure minimal wastage of the vaccine provided to the state. He tweeted, “Good to see healthcare workers and nurses set an example in reducing vaccine wastage. Reducing vaccine wastage is important to strengthen fight against Covid 19.”

Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister of Kerala in his press conference had revealed that Kerala had administered 74,26,164 doses to patients from 73,38,806 doses received from the Central Government. This was done by ensuring that there was minimal wastage of vaccine provided. Every vaccine vial has enough vaccine for 10 doses and one extra dose to provide for wastage. The healthcare team in Kerala made sure that every drop of vaccine was utilised and thus more people got vaccinated. He tweeted, “Kerala has received 73,38,806 doses of vaccine from GoI. We’ve provided 74,26,164 doses, even making use of the extra dose available as wastage factor in each vial. Our health workers, especially nurses have been super efficient and deserve our wholehearted appreciation!”
