National award winning lyricist Na Muthukumar passed away in Chennai today. He was 41.
The popular lyricist, who hailed from Kannikapuram in Kancheepuram district, has to his credit hundreds of songs, several of which were chartbusters. The ace lyricist had won National Awards for his numbers in the films, Thangameengal and Saivam.
Sources close to the lyricist claim that he had been unwell for some time and had been receiving treatment for Jaundice. Several leaders from different political parties, including DMK President M Karunanidhi, and members of the Tamil film industry expressed their condolences on getting to know of his demise. Muthukumar is survived by his wife and two children.
