The prestigious Kritzinger Memorial Award was given to Dr.Soosan Jacob, Director of Dr Agarwal’s Refractive and Cornea Foundation. She received the award in Chicago. The award was presented to Dr. Soosan for her numerous innovative techniques and devices in the fields of cornea, refractive cataract and glaucoma surgery that have improved patient care on an international level.
She is the first Indian as well as the first woman to receive the award. She has won other awards besides this viz JRS Waring Medal for editorial excellence, Innovators Award, ESCRS John Henahen award for young opthalmologist and AAO International Opthalmologist Education Award.
