She had to step in as acting President as Joe Biden went under anesthesia

Though it was only for a brief while, US Vice President Kamala Harris stepped in as the acting President of the United States as Joe Biden went under anesthesia for a colonoscopy procedure. Harris is the first woman to hold US Presidential power in 250 years! There have been speculations that Kamala Harris would contest the Presidential elections in 2024 but the White House has declared that Biden intends to contest.

Biden turned 79 last weekend and he is the oldest person to have served as President of the US. After his tests at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, he was declared as “healthy, vigorous” and fit to resume the duties of the President.

Kamala Harris announced that the Biden administration plans to make a historic 1.5 billion investment in healthcare workforce that will ensure equitable healthcare among communities that need it amidst the Covid 19 pandemic. The funding will go to the National Health Service Corps, Nurse Corps and Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery programs, all federal programs that offer scholarship and loan repayments for health care students and workers if they pledge to work in underserved and high-risk communities.
