Imran Khan hospitalized after assassination attempt

Former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan has been admitted to hospital after an assassination attempt on him that left him with a gunshot wound on his leg. His convoy was attacked by a lone gunman who killed one person and injured 10 persons.


It has been reported that Imran Khan is stable and doing fine at the Shaukat Khanum hospital in the eastern city of Lahore. He was leading a campaign convoy of thousands of people from Lahore to the capital Islamabad when the attack took place. The 70 year old former prime minister and former international cricketer escaped the assassination bid but got one bullet wound on his right leg when a gunman sprayed pistol fire at his modified container truck. The attacker has been caught and taken into custody. Investigations are going on into the attack.
