The Human Resources Ministry has given a directive to all States and Union Territories asking them not to assign any homework for kids of classes 1 and 2. They have gone a step further and have even prescribed the weight limit of school bags for each class.
All the States and Union Territories have been asked to form guidelines to regulate the teaching of subjects and to regulate the weight of school bags. Classes 1 and 2 are to have only language and maths. Moreover the students should not be asked to carry extra material, additional books etc
