Summer is that time of the year when you start feeling like your frizziest, greasiest, and most acne-prone self. However, allow us to tell you you are not alone! The sweltering weather spares no one and can take a serious toll on the health of our skin making us all look a total mess.
From sunburn and skin breakouts to chafing and melting makeup, there is just no end to our summer beauty woes. To combat these problems, here are 5 fool-proof hacks by Amanda Bell, Global Director of Artistry and Education at Pixi to keep your beauty game going strong all through the season
One of the evergreen ways of creating a bespoke element to any skincare routine is to customize by adding a couple of drops of nourishing face oil to your cleanser, masks, moisturizer. This ensures that the skin is kept at optimum levels of moisture and has a beautiful radiance boost.

Use a hydrating mist spray to keep the skin dewy and fresh all day. Also, try spraying your moisturizing mist onto your foundation brush or makeup sponge before blending out to help increase bendability and give a really seamless finish.

Multi-masking is the perfect way to really treat the skin in a targeted way. Clean the skin first and then choose the Remedy Mask that you feel you need the most. They are all based around a jelly-textured, superbly hydrating base. Reach for the Rose Remedy Mask for hydration and smoothing the Vitamin-C Remedy Mask for hydration and brightening, and the Milky Remedy Mask for hydration and calming.
Put a thick layer on the skin, leave it on for 10-15 minutes, then remove with either a damp face cloth or your favourite Pixi Tonic.
You can also use a thinner layer and use it as a sleep mask as the ultimate *booster* to do all of the hard work whilst you sleep!
Also, these are incredible for multi-masking. Either use after a deep pore cleansing/detox mask like the Glow Mud Mask or be prescriptive and combine two of the remedy masks on different parts of the face for a bespoke result.
Lush Lashes & Delicately Defined
Create an eyeliner that doesn’t just define the eyes but also makes the lashes appear fuller. Start by dotting a liquid line at the root of the lashes, all along the lash line and then gently sweep the liquid liner from inner corner to outer (joining the dots) and do a little flick at the end to lift the eye. For the ultimate flutter lash effect, brush lashes inwards towards the nose for the first coat, and the second coat, brush lashes outwards for a fan-like effect.

A creamy textured liquid lipstick can be used as a stain for those natural makeup days or under a face mask rather than just as an opaque lipstick. Instead of applying directly from the lip applicator, pat it into the lips with the pad of your finger. Also, for the perfect sheer tint of colour and add a little touch of colour to your cheeks using the same technique blended into the apples of the cheeks (after foundation before powder) for a fresh touch of rouge.
