A beautiful painting by Namboothiri was gifted to HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi 
An ardent lover of Art & culture, the Ruler of Sharjah, HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi met with Kochi-Muziris Biennale co-founder Bose Krishnamachari. Talking about the chance meeting with the Sharjah Ruler, Bose said “HH Sheikh Sultan is one of the most prominent promoter of Art & culture in the Arab world and his continuous efforts have made Sharjah, the cultural capital of Middle East. It was my sheer luck to be in Kochi today and to have made it in time to meet such a great scholar, who along with his daughter have been a great supporter of the Kochi Biennale Foundation.”

During a personal visit to prominent NRI businessman and Kochi-Muziris Biennale patron Yusuffali’s home in Kochi, the talk veered towards art and Kochi-Muziris Biennale, and on the request of Yusuffali, Bose Krishnamachari, the President of Kochi Biennale Foundation was asked to meet the ruler. The ruler, who is a patron of Sharjah Biennale while his daughter is the president of Sharjah Biennale and has just become President of the International Biennale Association, was pleasantly surprised to be gifted a beautiful painting by Namboothiri as a token of appreciation. HH Sultan had a brief discussion with Bose and commended the Indian artists for their pioneering work in the field of art & culture. “He also commended the efforts of Yusuffali for his continued support to Kochi-Muziris-Biennale as one of its main sponsors”, added Bose.
