Cinema halls in Kerala hoping to open its doors next month

As cases begin to reduce, restaurants and hotels are finally open for dine in

Kerala has been under tremendous pressure as Covid cases were skyrocketing last month but with increased vaccination, the cases have slowly come down and Kerala has begun to open up. Schools are expected to open from November 1st, hotels and restaurants have opened for dine in. Cinema halls hope to open next month in time for Pooja/ Diwali release.

The cinema industry had been worst hit with no shootings being permitted for a long time but now shoots are happening in full swing. Films that have been waiting for theatre release are hoping to hit screens from October and theatre owners are preparing themselves for the news. If the TPR falls below 10 percent , things may start looking up. Talks are on with the government about relaxation on entertainment tax and fixed charges on power tariff of theatres as well. Films like Mammootty’s Bheeshmaparvam and Mohanlal’s Marakkar are some of the blockbusters expected to reach Cinemas for the festive season.
