Celebrity couples fundraising to help India beat the Covid-19 crisis

The second wave of Covid-19 is wreaking havoc in India. Several celebrities have come forward to raise funds and to help those who are suffering. Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas have teamed up with GiveIndia to organise a fundraiser for India. They have posted a video on the fundraiser’s website and have also appealed for help to stop the spread of this dreaded disease.

Singers Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes have also joined hands with the same charity to raise funds for India.
Other international celebrities who are trying to raise funds for India are Ellen DeGeneres, Lana Condor, Jada Pinkett Smith and Richard Madden. Many Indian celebrities too have joined the band and are making use of their social media accounts to amplify calls for hospital beds, oxygen and plasma donors. Some of them have also started fundraising efforts. They include Bhumi Pednekar and her sister Samisksha who have collaborated with Ketto,org to enable financial assistance to Covid-19 patients. Arjun Kapoor and his sister Anshula Kapoor’s online celebrity fundraising platform Fankind, has been silently working to help the people of India. The brother-sister duo have raised over Rs 1 crore to help families in need. Arjun stated “The pandemic has made us stare at an abyss of suffering. It has made us all step forward and help as many people as possible in our own, unique way.”
