BJP leader Sonali Phogat’s family give consent for autopsy

Sonali Phogat, a BJP leader from Hisar in Haryana was found dead two days ago in Goa in suspicious circumstances. She was 42. Her family claimed that she was murdered by two of her associates and that she complained about them before her death.


Her family has now given their consent to conduct the autopsy with a condition that the entire procedure is video-graphed.
The Goa Police have stated that an FIR would be filed after the postmortem is conducted. According to the police, Sonali died of a suspected heart attack but later registered a case of unnatural death.
Goa Medical College and Hospital has formed a panel of two forensic experts to conduct the forensic exam as well as a panel of two doctors to conduct an autopsy.
