Biden to appoint 2 Indian-Americans to his National Advisory Council

US President Joe Biden has decided to appoint two Indian -Americans Manu Asthana and Madhu Beriwal to his National Infrastructure Advisory Council. This Council advises the White House on how to reduce physical and cyber risks and improve security and resilience of the nation’s infrastructure sectors.


Asthana has vast experience in the energy industry, power generation operations, risk management etc. He is a member of the Electricity Subsector Coordinating Council and serves on the Board of Trustees of Texas Children’s Hospital. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia.
Madhu on the other hand is the founder of the Innovative Emergency Management Inc and is its CEO and president. It is said to be the largest woman-led homeland security and emergency management firm in the US.
