BCCI officials landed in Dubai to plan for the remaining matches of IPL 2021. The BCCI President Sourav Ganguly will join the delegation shortly after he attends the virtual board meeting of the International Cricket Council.

It may be recalled that IPL 2021 was suspended in India due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases. It was later decided that the BCCI would shift the tournament to UAE and conduct the remaining matches during the months of September-October.
There is a big question mark as to whether spectators will be allowed. This decision has to be taken by the UAE authorities. The BCCI is fine to conduct matches with or without spectators.
The IPL is expected to begin on September 18, four days after India’s Test series in England gets over. As foreign players are also included in the tournament, it will go on with whichever player is available. The franchisees will have to look out for other players if the existing team players cannot make it.
Meanwhile, all the players and support staff will be vaccinated before the tournament continues.
