In a historic move, Australians have voted in favor of legalising same sex marriage. It will come into effect before Christmas. The Australian Bureau of Statistics announced the astounding result of a two month postal survey which had 61.6 per cent in favor and 38.4 per cent voting against it. Over 12.7 million people took part in the survey and they have given their verdict. Mr.Turnbull a vocal advocate of marriage equality called on the lawmakers to go ahead with the necessary legislation.
Thousands if same sex marriage supporters celebrated this historic result by waving rainbow flags and hugging each other at mass gatherings across the nation.
