Grammy award winner AR Rahman has teamed up with singer and songwriter Ananya Birla to compose the track ‘Hindustani Way’ as Team India gears up to participate in the Tokyo Olympics.
The anthem has been sung by Ananya and the music has been composed by Rahman. It is said to be a tribute to sportspersons.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur launched the song and thanked Ananya and Rahman for taking the initiative. He requested every Indian citizen to listen to the song, to share it and cheer for the country.
The song has a catchy tune and has archival footage from 1996 (Atlanta), 2004 (Athens), 2002 & 2008 (Beijing), 2012 (London) and 2016 (Rio de Janeiro). It also features glimpses of training done by this year’s team. The music video has been directed by Danny Mamik and Sahaan Hattangadi. The lyrics have been penned by Ananya, Nirmika Singh and Shishir Samant. It has both English and Hindi vocals and exudes optimism and strength.

The Tokyo Olympics was scheduled to be held in 2020 but has been postponed to this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It will take place in Tokyo from 23 July.
