Zomato eyes to enter 500 cities by September

Food Delivery app Zomato announced its expansion in 17 new cities as a plan of its expansion taking it to a total of 213 cities. The new cities are Bulandshahr, Shahjahanpur, Solan, Palwal, Rewari, Machilipatnam, Nandyal, Bhimavaram, Ongole, Srikakulam, Kadapa, Kottayam, Kollam, Khanna, Gurdaspur, Ambur, and Deoghar.

The company has been adding almost one city to its portfolio every day since December 2018. Their next target is to deliver food across 500 cities in India by the end of September 2019. Emerging cities are a major growth and revenue for them and they expect to constitute more than 50 percent of total volume order by the end of the year.

Zomato currently works with  1.4 million restaurants across 24 countries and serves more than 65 million customers monthly. Zomato had launched its operations in Indian on May 2015
