Two women Bindu and Kanakadurga who entered the Sabarimala Temple defying protesters moved the Supreme Court for police protection. They were represented by Senior Advocate Indira Jaising. Their petition was to allow all women into the temple without any  danger to life and liberty.

They also want the temple authorities not to conduct the right of purification or shutdown the temple as it violated the fundamental right of life, freedom of religion and freedom of discrimination of women. The two women from Kerala feared that they would be attacked and therefore filed the petition seeking round the clock police protection. The petition will come up for hearing today.
