Research published in the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organisation found that when women are at the helm of affairs there is less corruption. They have analysed data from over 125 countries.

This research shows the importance of women empowerment, their representation in governments and taking on leadership roles says Sudipta Sarangi, an economics professor at Virginia Tech in the U.S. Women policy makers could cut corruption as they choose different policies from men and choose policies that are closely related to the welfare of women, children and family.
