Women protesters held

More than 60 women who staged a protest at the Kilpauk Medical College Hospital supporting the woman who contracted HIV due to receiving infected blood were remanded by the police.

The women belonged to the All India Democratic Women’s Association and they demanded for justice for the woman who contracted HIV. The tests taken by the woman before blood transfusion shows her to be HIV negative. The  General Secretary of the AIDWA P. Suganthi said that an advocate from the AIDWA would represent the victim and argue the case against the KMC.
