Women operate inaugural train

Supriya from Nizamabad and Rajasekhara Chary from Hyderabad operated the inaugural train in which the Prime Minister and other senior government officials took a ride. Supriya was selected from among 35 female loco pilots trained to operate the train.

She was thrilled to bits when she heard that Modi and other dignitaries would be travelling in the inaugural train. Female loco pilots were trained as part of the initiative to provide equal employment opportunities to women. The Special Protection Group also cleared the decision. Controls were managed by Supriya and Rajasekhara monitored the other systems.
