A woman who was given HIV positive blood at a government hospital in Sattur, Virudhunagar district delivered a baby girl in Madurai. A normal healthy child weighs between 2. 5 kgs and 3. 5 kgs at birth The baby girl will be given formula feed as of now in order to prevent her from contracting HIV. The mother in the meantime is being treated with antiviral medication.
