Rohina Bhandari a 49 year old woman of Indian origin was killed by a tiger shark while scuba diving on a remote Costa Rican island. She was part of an 18 member group that went for a diving session off Cocos Island National part in Costa Rica which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for varieties of shark species. Rohina was a Wall Street private equity manager.
Even though she was hauled out of the water after sustaining severe bites,she could not be saved. A dive master who also suffered a shark bite survived as the injury was not life threatening.
