Former Cricket Captain of the women’s team has been honoured with a stamp of her own. Her hobby right from a young age was to collect stamps. She used to collect them from the letters her mother and grandmother used to receive by post.

Even though today email and courier services have taken over from postcards and inland letters, the value of the postal stamp has not diminished. The former women’s team cricket captain Jhulan Goswami said that she felt greatly honoured to be stamped. So far only four people in India have been honoured with their respective postal stamps. They are the late Mother Teresa, the late Rajiv Gandhi, Sachin Tendulkar and now Jhulan Goswami. She is currently the leading wicket taker in women’s ODI’s and the first cricketer to take 200 wickets.
